Moritz Sedlatschek is a Ph.D. candidate at the Computational Communication Science Lab at the University of Vienna, under the supervision of Prof. Annie Waldherr. His research interests focus on attention dynamics, public opinion, socio-economic inequality, and computational methods.

He completed his Master’s degree in Communication Science (M.Sc.) at the University of Vienna. His thesis analyzed five years of climate change media coverage across six countries from the Global North and South to investigate the salience of climate justice. Prior to starting his Ph.D., Moritz worked as a research assistant on the Social Issue Emergence in the Hybrid Media System project, also led by Prof. Waldherr. He has additional experience as a research assistant at the Marketing & Consumer Psychology Department at WU, and the Institute of Social Science and Communication in Bielefeld.
