Marvin Stecker is a PhD student at the Computational Communication Lab, Department of Communication at the University of Vienna. He works in the AUTHLIB project on neo-authoritarianism in Europe, and previously was the project manager of the OPTED project, focusing on text analysis infrastructures. 

His research uses a variety of computational methods to study political communication with a particular focus on the meaning and salience of collective identities, as well as methodological questions. He studied Communication Science and Sociology at the universities of Münster and Salzburg. During that time, he was a student assistant for the PropStop-project, investigating automated propaganda.
