Moritz Sedlatschek is a Ph.D. candidate at the Computational Communication Science Lab at the University of Vienna, under the supervision of Prof. Annie Waldherr.

In his dissertation, Moritz explores how social media influencers portray and embody success, wealth, and merit, and whether this shapes perceptions of economic inequality.

He completed his Master’s degree in Communication Science (M.Sc.) at the University of Vienna. His thesis analyzed five years of climate change media coverage across six countries from the Global North and South to investigate the salience of climate justice. Prior to starting his Ph.D., Moritz worked as a research assistant on the Social Issue Emergence in the Hybrid Media System project, also led by Prof. Waldherr.
