Andrea Stockinger is part of the Monitoring Electoral Democracy (MEDem) team, which is tasked with setting up a research infrastructure for European election data. She is also a Ph.D. candidate at the Political Communication Research Group, chaired by Dr. Sophie Lecheler. Her main research interests include (toxic) political talk online and experimental research methods. In her Ph.D. project, Andrea identifies the online behaviours that users and content moderators deem "toxic" and tests the effectiveness of various content moderation scenarios on both the quality of an online debate and the users’ willingness to participate. Prior to her employment at the University of Vienna, Andrea Stockinger completed the Bachelor's and Master’s degrees (with distinction) in Journalism and Communication Science at the University of Vienna and worked in advertising and public relations.
